When you start a band you immediately start to anticipate your first gig. There are no thoughts of recording or any of the other fluff that surrounds a "successful" band, it all comes down to getting up on stage and playing your music in front of whoever shows up. The beauty of this, is that's all it ever really comes down to - as a band you never really get beyond that. Most people play in bands long past the point of knowing that they should quit because they are addicted to playing live. That feeling of connecting with your fellow musicians and then channeling that energy out into a crowd of people and then feeling that energy come back at you transformed into a whole new energy. It is a very wonderful and powerful drug and once you experience it, it is very difficult to kick.
