That is one sick little film, said with respect in the hip, modern way. I saw the original event live on TV. This interpretation is brilliant. The characters depict cultural icons; the imagery is riveting. History and art and music. Nurse Ratched, oh my!
There had been chatter on the Cowboy Junkies message board about a JFK allusion in work coming out of Latent Recordings. Here we have it. I had suspected as much, having seen LeE HARVeY OsMOND live a couple times, and A Quiet Evil in rotation ever since. Furthermore, the Jesus allusion is a little over the top, but you pull it off, Tom. Bravo, and the entire project is well done with the creepy sense of waiting for the shoe you know is going to drop. Magnificent storytelling.
Who are the members of LHO depicted? The guy on conga singing along is fantastic, visually. I believe that’s Aaron np: guitar. He again appears in an understated situation, as with the pedal steel on Moonlight Mile, etc., on tour with Cowboy Junkies.
