2009 was a great first year for Tom Wilson and Lee Harvey Osmond! Over 75 shows in Canada, the USA and France and lots of new friends. Thank you for being a part of it all – looking forward to more in 2010!
Lee Harvey Osmond’s first release, “A Quiet Evil”, popped up on a whole bunch of Best of 2009 lists, including:
“It’s some of Wilson’s finest songwriting (and in David Wiffen’s “Lucifer’s Blues” and Velvet Underground’s “I Can’t Stand It,” his keenest cover judgment) set in the grooviest, funkiest, spookiest music he has yet achieved. Wilson calls it “acid folk,” I’ll just call it great and hope this isn’t a one-off.”
“A collective effort that with representation from the Cowboy Junkies, the Skydiggers, Junkhouse that sprang from a Michael Timmins project to musically chronicle the assassination of JFK. The group accomplishes the task in brilliant form in the track, Parkland, named after the Dallas hospital in which the president was pronounced dead. Frontman Tom Wilson describes this deeply dark, sometimes frightening, music as acid folk. It fits.”
“There’s a sense of barely contained menace in these deceptively low-key songs, accentuated by Tom Wilson’s hushed-gruff vocals and the lush, layered music of guests including Michael and Margo Timmins, Colin Linden and other worthies from the Canadian scene.”

Lee Harvey Osmond is featured in the December 30 episode with Brent Nielsen’s Top 10 of 2009.
“Members of Junkhouse, Skydiggers and the Cowboy Junkies turn into creepy old men: spooky and stunning. Ideal for dark drives down Ontario back roads.”
