We don’t know where or when Lee recorded this but along with Neil Young’s -Expecting To Fly and Gordon Lightfoots -Oh Linda we feel THE FUTURE is some of Lee’s best unreleased tracks.. So here is #3 of Lee Harvey Osmonds LOST TRACKS. Click the link to watch.

Everyone Loves a Good Review

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

logo-1

Colours to the mast time – I am a sucker for dense, mesmeric and dark Blues; this is one of the best around.

Lee Harvey Osmond describes his music as ‘Acid-Folk’ and that is as good as any but this takes in elements of folk, Bayou boogie and North Mississippi Trance-Blues and does them all justice. There is an acid tinge to the whole thing as well as a dark overtone to the music and the combination of breathed vocals and gently played instruments makes you listen closely and absorb all the deranged and romantic sounds they throw at you.

A Quiet Evil Review From England

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Leicester Bangs CD Review

Lee Harvey Osmond – A Quiet Evil (Latent Recordings)

For this first release on Latent Recordings, Canadians Lee Harvey Osmond pursue an eclectic relaxed groove which invokes in equal measure the bayou and the desert, and in doing so captures a strong essence of the dark heart that beats within some of North America’s rural extremes. Given the presence of all four Cowboy Junkies it’s unsurprising that the mood is poised and restrained and never remotely threatens to break its stride; but the record is led from the front by former Junkhouse man Tom Wilson, which ensures it has an intensity and edginess which raises it above mere ambient Americana.

Lee Harvey Osmond Catching the Ears of the United Kingdom

Friday, March 5th, 2010

This is what they are saying across the pond about Lee Harvey Osmond…

What a great name. You gotta love it… Choosing a name like Lee Harvey Osmond means that you have also got to be able to back it up musically if you are going to pull it off with any aplomb. The Canadian band (yes another one), are an interesting beast. Musically they have much in common with the likes of Ry Cooder and fellow countrymen The Band, so the music is as you might expect slick, inventive and engaging, earning them the label of ‘Acid Folk’. Led by former Junkhouse front man Tom Wilson, the band has a stellar cast of musicians on display, 17 to be precise and each one of them does indeed pull it off with aplomb.
