Thank you for an amazing year! / Nonsense and Heartache makes AmericanaUK’s Top albums of 2018

Hey all!
I want to start off by thanking everyone who helped make 2018 the best of my career so far. This year saw two European tours, cross Canada tours, the European re-release of the album Nonsense and Heartache, a full page feature in the German Rolling Stone (Nonsense and Heartache also rose to #3 on the RS Writers Album Charts) and I happily joined Maiden Voyage Booking Agency in the UK and Sedate Booking Agency for the rest of Europe. It was also an honour to see Nonsense and Heartache listed as one of the best albums of 2018 in AmericanaUK. The record got to have a second life overseas, after its initial 2017 Canadian release through Latent Recordings/Warner Music Canada (Proper Music in Europe).
It was a year of very hard work that paid off and I was so happy to have had a highly successful European debut tour with my longtime band, The Situation (James McKie, Dan Mock, Kyle Sullivan) and to have Laura Proctor (LPPhotographs) doing tour photography (documented in a limited edition tour zine) and being part of the crew. We made so many new friends this year and played so many great shows and festivals. We also found time to record and release the 2nd album from my side project, The Del Fi’s, which keeps us busy in between everything else.
The other week we entered the studio to begin work on the next record. Like the previous 2 albums, it’s being produced by Michael Timmins of Cowboy Junkies and it’ll be released in 2019 on their label, Latent Recordings. There’s a lot of new songs I’ve written that Michael and I are narrowing down. I’m very excited to get back into the studio in another week or so. We’ll also be returning to Europe for a long Spring tour. Stay tuned for announcements.
Have a happy and safe New Year’s everyone! All the best to you and yours, we’ll see you in 2019!
